One Person Can Change the System

A couple of years ago, I met a woman named Elizabeth at a mom entrepreneur group. She immediately struck me as a generous spirit with a grounding type of energy. I consistenty looked forward to seeing her at other events. When she told me she had started doing a talk on how One Person Can Change the System, I knew immediately that this was the right talk to start my live community events.

Most of the people in my life fall into one (or more) of three categories - teachers/educators, healers and/or creatives. Whatever it is that they do, there is a fire behind whatever drives them. Working within a "system" though can often leave them feeling burnt out, and loose touch with what inspired them in the first place.

I've seen first hand what a difference changing a system can make. My current school has made positive shifts over the years that make the place feel like a truly remarkable place for kids to me. Even those kids who don't fit in the standard "box." It wasn't always that way, but with new leadership, solid teamwork and a truly caring staff, they demonstrate their warmth and welcoming additude on a consistent basis.

Now it's easy to think that this kind of change can only come from the top - the leader drives the building. While it is true that good leadership is crucial - anyone within a system can make positive change.

Think of a time when you felt frustrated and alone and one person reached out to you? That probably made a huge difference for you right?

If you make a positive difference for even one person, that person can go on to make a positive difference for someone else.

But, I'm willing to bet that you make a positive difference in the lives of way more than one person. It's in your nature, you can't stop trying, but it sure would be nice to have more tools in your toolbox to reach maximum effectiveness.

This is why I've invited Elizabeth Spitzer to share how One Person Can Change the System! If you live in the Portland Metro area, come join us at Quinn Mountain Retreat. You can find more information on our event page here
