You are intensely powerful!
As an intense person, you may be feeling extra overloaded on the stress meter lately, but don't forget that you are more powerful than you know!
Some days you are on top of your game and can handle whatever is thrown at you. Other days the smallest thing can put you over the edge.
You try to engage in healthy habits to keep your own oxygen mask on, but sometimes all of those “shoulds” stress you out even more. If only you had more self-control, you'd be able to handle more.
But what if I told you that it’s not about self-control? In fact, your focus on self-control may be self-sabotaging.
You see, self-control takes willpower and willpower is a limited resource. The more stressed you are, the less of it you have. When you beat yourself up for not doing the things you think you “should,” you end up even less likely to do the things that refuel your tank.
Self-Regulation, on the other hand, seeks to reduce the effort needed to maintain personal control by breaking or reducing the cycle of stress.
Remember, you can Make a powerful difference, but only if you keep your batteries charged!
In my free 7-day Ignite Your Power Challenge, we will work together to:
Explore tools to shut down your “fight/flight” reflex in order to get your rational brain back online.
Identify 5 types of stressors and their corresponding energizers so that you can start to replace some of the things that are stressing you out with things that replenish you.
Clarify when you should say “no” so you can say “yes” to the things that energize you and/or move you toward a sense of accomplishment.
